Confirm the full amount
Ask for an itemized total, any deposit, the balance due date, and the cancellation and refund terms. Delivery options, timing, transport arrangements and any delivery fees are discussed and agreed directly with the breeder before booking. Check that the written agreement shows the same amounts.
Verify payment instructions
Confirm the payee and payment instructions through a contact method you already trust. Be cautious about last-minute changes to account details. Never share a banking password, PIN, one-time code or security answer.
Keep your records
Keep copies of the written adoption terms, payment receipts and messages about the puppy and handover. Ask the breeder for available veterinary records, vaccination details and health information, and review any questions with your veterinarian.
